The Bureau of Health Statistics & Informatics, in partnership with programs throughout the NH Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS), oversees the NH DHHS Data Portal. The application was created by the Division of Public Health Services (DPHS) and is maintained in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology and the Bureau of Information Services. The site aggregates health and social services data from more than 40 different datasets containing hundreds of health-related indicators. The originating data sources are sent to the Health Statistics and Data Management program where the team extracts, transforms and aggregates the data to meet the needs of the data portal. This data process flows through extensive quality assurance validations.
Most of the datasets are updated annually. Data stewards typically provide data to our program several months after the end of the year or collection period. The data aggregation, visualization and stringent quality assurance processes may take up to a year to complete.
